Myofascial Release Therapy
This is a gentle, hands-on technique where no oil is used. The connective tissue is like a web from our head to our toes and surrounds, supports and protects all structures in the body. Gentle stretching of the connective tissue can assist with impaired function and posture of the body; encouraging a healing effect on the body tissue, decreasing pain and increasing mobility.
A whole mind body approach is used to improve function of the body. The craniosacral system is comprised of the membranes and the cerebrospinal fluid that surrounds and protects the brain and spinal cord. It is a gentle, subtle and yet profound way of assessing and treating restrictions in various areas of the craniosacral system and the body. As it is a whole body approach, you may find you notice changes in areas separate from your present pain centres.
This is a form of treatment that endeavours to release tension and energy blocks within the body, in order to restore balance to the body's subtle energy field. Using gentle holding techniques or heavier, deeper contacts and rocking motions, the energy field is awakened and encouraged to restore equilibrium. It promotes wellbeing, mental and emotional clarity, self-healing; and integrates the body, mind and spirit.
