PHYSICAL & PSYCHOLOGICAL WELLBEING
Massage is a powerful tool to help you take charge of your health and wellbeing, and you don’t need to have a specific health condition to benefit from treatment.
Studies have shown that massage therapy is highly beneficial in the treatment of stress, muscle pain and muscle tension. Massage can also aid digestion, help remove toxins from the body, increase blood flow and circulation, strengthen the immune system and improve your sleep.
Remedial massage is the treatment of muscles, ligaments, tendons and connective tissues of the body to assist in rehabilitation, pain reduction and injury management. It is performed to create favourable conditions for the body to return to optimal health after injury.
Remedial massage is intended to assist in restoring balance to the musculoskeletal system, increasing the flow of blood and lymph, particularly around the injured areas.
Relaxation Massage, as the name suggests, is a gentle type of massage designed to help you relax and unwind.
The strokes of a relaxation massage are typically slow, measured and rhythmic, to bring about a feeling of calmness and deep relaxation.
Relaxation massage helps to enhance physical and emotional wellbeing.
This is a gentle, hands-on technique where no oil is used. The connective tissues of the body are similar to a web from our head to our toes, and surrounds, supports and protects all structures of the body.
Gentle stretching of connective tissues can assist with impaired function and posture of the body; encouraging a healing effect on body tissues, decreasing pain and increasing mobility.
This is a dynamic style of massage, normally used with athletes who are sports specific or subject their body to extreme physical stress on a regular basis.
They may have minor stress-related injuries, or some muscle soreness from lactic acid build-up. This is a strong massage style, designed to ensure a good muscular response to aid in faster healing.
Deep Tissue Massage
This is a more vigorous version of sports massage, when the therapist focuses pressure on specific areas to address perceived problems in that area.
It is very intense and probing, but is extremely effective in treating deep issues, which other styles of massage would either not reach or would require much more time invested to achieve an effective result.
